Journey to Adulthood (Grades 7 to 12)
For the 2012-2013 school year, St. Anne will continue to offer the Journey to Adulthood formation program to students in 7th grade through 12th grade. This is a comprehensive program through which our youth develop from children into full, active adult participants in the Church by encouraging teens to explore and learn to connect their faith to all areas of their lives. The Journey process is organized into three groups, each of which remain together with the same set of adult advisors over a 2 year period. For the 2012-2013 school year, the Rite 13 class will be made up of 7th and 8th graders, with a focus on recognizing the gifts God gives, celebrating creative potential, and learning to be active members of a faith community. The middle segment, J2A , will be made up of 9th and 10th grades, with a focus on developing basic skills of adulthood and seeking God in all situations. The J2A class will be offered Confirmation preparation and embark on a spiritual journey to Scotland in the summer of 2013. Our upperclassmen, high school juniors and seniors, will form our YAC class (Young Adults in Church). These students are encouraged take on more responsibilities in worship and outreach.During the course of the year, we also offer Combined Youth Activities in which the entire Journey to Adulthood program participates.
Meeting Time: Primarily Sundays during the school year from 9:45 – 10:30, with various other meetings, events, retreats and service projects outside of primary class time.
Coordinator: Lois Erven
