I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats of this bread will live forever; and the bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh.

Group of Saint Anne Sunday School childrenPre-k through Kindergarten (typically three, four, and five year olds)
We are excited to offer Seasons of the Spirit for children ages 3 through Kindergarten. Children will be introduced to a rich mix of age appropriate activities centered on scripture and Episcopal basics that encourage a deeper understanding of traditional Old and New Testament Bible stories and how they relate to the children’s lives. The fall session of Seasons of the Spirit focuses on God’s love, Esther’s journey, Job’s courage, Bartimaeus’ struggle, Ruth and Naomi’s friendship, Hannah’s joy, Advent and Jesse Tree celebrations.  Just like our curriculum for children in first through fifth grade, stories will “match” the Scripture readings of our Sunday worship services allowing families the opportunity to discuss what has been taught in class and heard in church each Sunday. Children learn God’s word in a lively classroom environment using a variety of teaching methods including games, art, music, storytelling, role playing, science, and more!  (Three, four and five-year-olds may also attend our Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program.)

First Grade through Fifth Grades
We also offer Seasons of the Spirit for our First through Fifth Grade children. The children will engage in age-appropriate activities that help deepen their connections to the rhythms of the Church year, the riches of Sunday liturgy, to each other, and to God. Children will explore our Episcopal religion in grade-leveled classrooms. Using this lectionary-based curriculum, the stories that will be read and the lessons that will be taught will directly relate to what is being read in Sunday services prompting great weekly discussions and reflections between students and parents. Children will explore Bible stories and verses that they can understand and connect to everyday situations. Teachers will lead meaningful discussions to help this lively group become wholehearted followers of Jesus. This new curriculum recognizes the children’s readiness to know what real life and real faith is like. The curriculum follows a scope and sequence that explores both Old and New Testament stories. Children are kept actively involved in learning through games, art, music, storytelling, role playing, science and more!

New students are welcome to join at any time of the year.
