Exploring St. Anne's

Beginning in October 1979, a small group, along with the Reverend John C. Cochrane, met weekly in private homes to share Bible study and celebrate the Eucharist in Union Township. Holding fast to the vision of developing an Episcopal presence in this fast growing suburb of Cincinnati, the sense of community and fellowship blossomed, and by the spring of 1980, the Union Township Episcopal Fellowship was meeting regularly on Sunday afternoons in the Faith Community Methodist Church.

Sacraments

In 1980, the faithful group searched for a site to hold their weekly services and found a home in the cafeteria of Adena Elementary School, becoming affectionately known as Saint Adena's. The congregation later decided on the name, Saint Anne. On Sunday mornings, the faithful arrived bright and early to prepare the worship space. Christian Education was held in the hallways, and there was always time for fellowship and coffee following the service. In 1986, St. Anne's was accepted as a parish in full communion with the Episcopal Diocese of Southern Ohio.
