Adult Education
Too often we're seduced into believing that "Sunday School" is for kids"- and opportunities to deepen and strengthen our ongoing formation into the likeness of Jesus are tragically forgotten or ignored. It's a lifetime vocation - and a wonderful opportunity to continually be surprised, amazed and empowered by the creativity of our God. St. Anne's offers a full and varied program, seeking to address many facets of our lives with "food for the journey."
Adult Forum (Sundays, 9:45 - 10:35 a.m.)
"Total Ministry"
In 2008-2009 the Sunday Adult Forum took “The Adult Journey” – exploring what it means and what it takes to become and live as an adult who professes and lives the Christian faith. This year the forum will take a next step, exploring more specifically what it means to be One among the priesthood of all believers.
While many persons exercise a variety of valid, effective ministries out in the world in which they live, work and play, often these ministries have not been affirmed or empowered by the Church. We often do not fully understand the notion of a “ministry/priesthood of all believers” or perceive healthy ways to share the ministry with one another – laity and clergy alike. “Total ministry” means that both clergy and laity are called to be ministers in the world and in the Church according to the gifts given to them. This year’s Adult Forum curriculum will provide opportunities and tools to explore more fully (and with particularity) God’s call and claim on each of our very unique and peculiar (in the best sense of that word) persons.
